Technically bleach does not stain a carpet.

Blot or gently stroke the carpet pile.
Instead it strips the dye out of the carpet fibers leaving a mark.
Use a brush if necessary to remove any stubborn dirt still clinging to the fibers.
Tan carpet removal i debated a lot about getting new carpet either after market or oem carpet but 300 for aftermarket or 760 for oem black carpet can be a bit hefty for carpet.
To remove the bleach odor from the carpet as well as any remaining dirt flush the carpet with water thoroughly and apply carpet shampoo afterward.
Another option is to use a home carpet cleaner aka a wet vacuum.
After that you can rinse the area with cool water.
Step 4 wash the carpet.
Allow the bleach to sit on the carpet for about 30 minutes to one hour.
So for 40 dollars worth of dye and my time i would give this dyeing thing a chance since i have seen what a properly dyed carpet looks like.
If the stain was removed do not proceed to the next step apply ammonia mix to the stained area without soaking the carpet.
Carpet is a costly investment that should last at least 10 years but discoloration thanks to spills pet mishaps and lots of sun exposure can make it look old before its time.
Rinse the carpet by applying warm water without soaking the carpet.
Vacuum or blot up the excess.
Watch for loss of color.
